Today, on the most spring like day in February, we were with Andrew & Nicola at The Lawn for their Wedding Day.
We had only met Andrew and Nicola a few weeks before today. And we were due to spend the whole day with them, right up until after their first dance. This was our first time at The Lawn, with Angie having only seen it as a guest before.
We split up, with Angie photographing the Bride’s room and Sophie capturing some ‘meeting and greeting’, downstairs with the Groom and his best men. Nicola and her bridesmaids were all so incredibly calm and looking gorgeous! The flower girls were in their pretty little dresses, and the french doors were opened onto the balcony letting the sunshine in. Andrew seemed to be quite nervous, but we got the impression that neither Bride nor Groom liked to be the centre of attention. Saying that though, once the ceremony was underway, they both seemed to focus on one another and forgot about the audience and our cameras!
The happy couple said their vows infront of all of their favourite people. Then we followed them outside into the sunshine, for drinks and canapes; capturing all the hugs, kisses and congratulations from their friends and relatives.
We took Andrew and Nicola off for some ‘alone’ pictures. We don’t pose couples, but we love to give them some space from the guests, so they can take some calm breaths and have a little catch up – while we snap away, hoping for some romantic moments too.
Then it was time for the confetti throw! And we must just say that this wedding had the most epic confetti throw ever! Andrew and Nicola had bought three huge bags of confetti, to make sure there was plenty to share around. It was almost a total white out! You should have seen the mess – you could hardly see any of the ground after!
The wedding breakfast was held in the Orangery, which looked stunning. Nicola had “allowed” Andrew to make his mark at this stage of the day. He chose a Star Wars theme; including the table plan, lego figure placecards and the back of their wedding cake – which looked fantastic and got alot of attention from the guests.
When we shoot an all day wedding, we usually request a meal and refreshments. And I must say, the chef at The Lawn cooked a mean lamb shank.
After everyone had eaten their three courses, we went back into the Orangery to get in place for the speeches. Angie focused on the speakers, while Sophie shot the laughter and tears coming from the tables. We love emotional pictures.
We love it when a couple chose live entertainment for their evening, and this band really got people moving. The giant, illuminated L O V E marquee letters were a great touch, and there was also a photo booth set up in the other room!
Another fabulous couple and another fantastic wedding! We can’t wait until our next one in a few months time.
♥ Congratulations Mr & Mrs East! ♥
