Newborn Photography in Southchurch, Essex

I first met this family when I went to their house for a Newborn Shoot. At that time, they had just finished refurbing their amazing home before the arrival of little Thea.

This time, they had decided to have a Family Shoot on Thorpe Bay Beach, Southend. Thea had changed so much, and they were all so smiley!

They previously asked me if Chloe’s parents could join them towards the end of the shoot, and when they turned up, we were all in hysterics, as all of them had woken up and decided to wear yellow! We totally embraced it though and even did some shots on a yellow striped beach hut.

I always go home smiling after a shoot, but this one was one of the happiest ever. Some families are very chilled out and this was one of them.

When Chloe asked if I could photograph them walking Thea along the top of the beach, I said yes, as it would look really good. As you can see, we came across a running group, in pink tutus who decided to join in as they run past. It’s moments like this that I love, as it’s real. I didn’t shout “stop” and make them wait until the runners had gone by. I carried on, and let the runners become part of Chloe & Pete’s memories of the day.

This is what I love about Documentary Family Photography. You just cannot predict what will happen, and whatever does, it’s real and unrehearsed.

Can you tell I love my job?
