Leigh-On-Sea, Essex – Wedding Photographer

This was our second wedding of October and one that we were really looking forward to, as John and Clare had to be the most laid back couple we had ever met! After two meetings with them, we realised that their wedding today, at Leigh Community Centre would be relaxed and fun!

We started the day snapping away at their home, while her Auntie did Clare’s hair and make up. Clare’s twin Sister Heidi was on hand to help with the children. She kept John and Clare’s little boy Ted and daughter Macie, as well as the other two flower girls, occupied while they too were dressed and prepped for the wedding.

We stayed with Clare until her Uncle and chauffeur Jason, arrived in his orange Mustang. Wow what a car!

We then dashed off to the venue to get some relaxed shots of John with his Best Man and Ushers. The guests started arriving and between us we got some great shots. This was the first wedding we’ve had which was in an urban setting. And we think the cars and onlookers in the background made the pictures look quite cool.

When it got close to Clare’s arrival time, we split up. Sophie stayed in the street capturing some more guest arrivals. While I went upstairs get some lovely shots of John greeting them as they came up.

Macie was the ring bearer but she also wanted to do a reading for her Mum and Dad. She really didn’t know if she could manage it on the day. It was so cute as she had a little meltdown in the hallway! She had lots of cuddles from Heidi and the other flower girls, reassuring her that it really didn’t matter if she felt too scared. I’m glad I was there at the time, as her tears changing to giggles made really sweet pictures which we knew John and Clare would love to look back on.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful! These two had some really good eye contact with each other, which always makes the pictures of the wedding vows so much more emotional to look at.

They had so many friends and family that they had to have standing room only at the back of the hall. Such a well loved couple!

Afterwards, it was time for John and Clare to be congratulated by everyone… Always one of our favourite parts of the day, because the nerves have gone and everyone is so smiley! Pictures of love, smiles and laughter all over the place.

While the guests filled up with drinks, we followed the happy couple down the road in the Mustang. They parked in front St Clements Church, so that we could use Church Hill as a backdrop for some photographs done alone together. It was their choice to come here alone, but the problem was, we realised there would be no confetti shots! No need to worry though…. Jason remembered he had a couple of boxes in his boot and stood up on the church wall to be their very own confetti thrower. He did a great job and we all had a giggle about it!

We all went back to the venue to continue with the celebrations, and we were able to join in with their gorgeous buffet from Faze Caterers.

After they had eaten, we asked Clare about the cutting of their lush cake. She said there’s really no need. They just wanted to enjoy themselves and not worry about traditions.

When the DJ bumped up the music, it was the children who took to the dance floor first. John and Clare are all about the kids so had bought them all activity baskets with all kinds of things in to keep them occupied. It was the balloons that gave them the most fun and we had a brilliant time on the floor with them dancing and having un together!

Soon it was time for their first dance. Clare and John couldn’t wait to get Macie and Ted up there with them. And then everyone, adults and children flocked to the dance floor. We got some really crazy shots of the dancing and left there SO happy!

Thank you for choosing us to capture your Special Day, John and Clare! We wish you many more years of happiness together!

♥ Congratulations Mr & Mrs Barry! ♥
