Today I went to the home of Naomi and Francis.I previously photographed them and their dog Chewy, in their maternity shoot in Hockley Woods. Naomi was pregnant at the time, with twins.
When they got back in touch with me for a Mini Day in the Life Shoot, Naomi told me they now have a baby boy too! I was so excited to meet their twin daughters and their new son. And of course, Chewy!
When they first discussed having a shoot done with me, they were thinking of an outdoor shoot. They were picturing Hadleigh Castle as a possible location, but the weather was very much against them, with strong winds and showers forecast.
I told them about our Day in the Life Shoots and asked if they would like to try one for their two hours with me. These are my favourite shoots to do with families. But trying to explain them to Mums and Dads, is hard.
It means you have a story of my time with you, which literally captures everything you do together in those couple of hours. Of course when you book two hours, you need to schedule it for the right activities to be photographed. They chose play time, story time and lunch. Perfect!
This family work so well together and it really shows. I even made sure that they got some group shots, as they really wanted one to frame on the wall. As you can see from the pictures, Naomi and Francis got a fantastic selection of images.
What makes a Day in the Life Shoot work, is a family who are a family. They have to interact well together, as this is what makes the magic happen.
